As I am sure is true of most of you, December was insanely busy with Christmas preparations. Now that it is over, I still find myself busily preparing meals for holiday gatherings, tripping over gift detritus, all while feeling the usual post-Christmas blues sinking in. Needless to say, I have not had the time or the inclination to do much freelensing. I considered just taking a step back and saying I couldn't participate this month.
Then I told myself - just ten minutes. Grab your camera, and take a ten-minute snapshot of this late 2014 morning. This is what my children looked like as 2014 ended. This is my husband, my family, my cluttered house. Of all of the things I have free lensed since I first started last winter, it comes down to these three people in this little country house. I thought about doing a post of my favourite images from this year, or images that hadn't made the cut before, but I felt that niggle to shoot one final time, and I decided not to ignore it.
To you, there is probably nothing special about these photos. To me, they could not be more special, dust particles and clutter and wild hair included. Thank you, Charlie, Rosemary, and Dave, for making me want to do this year after year. And thank you, readers, for listening and watching.
Best in 2015,
Joni
